Report: PSG’s Projected Starting 11 vs. AC Ajaccio – Where Will Messi Play?

Paris Saint-Germain is currently in the stretch run of its Ligue 1 campaign, and it will return to the Parc des Princes on matchday 35 for a matchup against AC Ajaccio.

PSG managed to get back on the right track on Ligue 1 matchday 34, as it came away with a convincing 3-1 win over Troyes. PSG sure needed this victory, especially as RC Lens moved into second place in the Ligue 1 table following its 2-1 home win over Olympique de Marseille.

As noted by Ligue 1’s official website, PSG manager Christophe Galtier could decide to pencil in these 11 players to start against AC Ajaccio.

Donnarumma; Marquinhos, Ramos, Danilo; Hakimi, Vitinha, Verratti, Ruiz, Bernat; Messi, Mbappe

Marco Verratti has continued to turn his season around as of late. The Italian midfielder is just coming off of a potent performance in PSG’s win over Troyes where he completed 104 passes and created six goal-scoring chances. He should go on to take hold of the central defensive midfielder role for PSG in this upcoming match.

The talk of the town surrounding PSG over the past week centered on whether Messi would play against AC Ajaccio. The Argentine forward was reportedly handed a two-week club-imposed suspension for taking an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia following PSG’s Ligue 1 home fixture against Lorient. Galtier confirmed during a pre-match press conference on Friday that Messi will indeed start on Ligue 1 matchday 35, and the veteran forward should slot into one of the two center forward spots upfront in the team’s projected 3-5-2 formation.

PSG last met AC Ajaccio on Ligue 1 matchday 12 when it notched a 3-0 away win.
