Manchester United has opened up discussions with Paris Saint-Germain over the possibility of bringing in Neymar during this year’s summer transfer window, according to L’Equipe.
PSG has turned to the Premier League to find a suitor for Neymar, and clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea are showing an early interest in the Brazilian forward. Manchester United would prefer to sign Neymar on a loan deal in the summer, while Chelsea is merely keeping a close watch on the forward’s situation with the current Ligue 1 leaders.
L’Equipe added that PSG prefers to offload Neymar via a permanent transfer deal, although the club would consider discussions revolving around a loan agreement.
L’Equipe also noted that Casemiro is “trying to convince” Neymar to join him at Manchester United. Casemiro and Neymar had countless duels during their respective runs at Real Madrid and Barcelona, and they have been teammates with the Brazil national team for over a decade now.
Overall, Neymar has four years left on his contract at PSG, and he is reportedly earning €56.36 million (gross) per season on his deal. He has not played for PSG since suffering a season-ending ankle injury during its Ligue 1 home fixture against Lille OSC in February.
