Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos will have to decide on several players’ futures in the French capital in the coming weeks. One of them will be striker Hugo Ekitike.
Ekitike has received sporadic playing time in his first season with the capital club after arriving last summer during the transfer window from Stade de Reims.
Nonetheless, L’Équipe (h/t Culture PSG) reported on Tuesday that Ekitike has two weeks to convince PSG to keep him this summer. As a reminder, the 20-year-old arrived in the form of a loan with a purchase option made almost mandatory estimated at €40 million.
Although the French striker didn’t score in PSG’s 3-1 win over Troye last Sunday, the young player did show promise. The forward was filling in for Lionel Messi, who missed the contest due to suspension.
PSG manager Christophe Galtier will have to decide whether he should give Ekitike another chance to prove himself or insert Messi back into the starting 11 for the contest against AC Ajaccio on Saturday at the Parc des Princes.
