Paris Saint-Germain reportedly plans to bolster its attack during the upcoming summer transfer window, and it has been linked with Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva. For the Portuguese international, PSG is reportedly a “destination that he likes a lot.”
During a pre-match press conference ahead of PSG’s Ligue 1 away fixture against Auxerre, manager Christophe Galtier was asked about Silva and whether the club needs to bring him in during this year’s summer transfer window. As expected, Galtier shied away from revealing the club’s stance on this transfer matter but rather took some time to touch on just what makes the Manchester City star such a coveted player.
“I said that we were not talking about the mercato,” Galtier said. “First of all, Bernardo Silva is a Manchester City player. I think many of you have seen his last game, where he was very good. He is a player I discovered when he arrived at Monaco when Luis Campos recruited him.
“He was very good, he was part of the champion team of Monaco. He is obviously an interesting player, but I repeat again, he is a Manchester City player.”
Silva recently noted that when it comes to his future at Manchester City, “We’ll see what happens.”
Silva is just coming off of a prolific performance in Manchester City’s UEFA Champions League semifinal second leg win over Real Madrid, where he scored two goals. He has just two more years left on his contract at Manchester City.
