Paris Saint-Germain could be in the market for a new manager as the capital club pulls the plug on the Christophe Galtier era after one season.
One name in the rumor mill is AS Roma Jose Mourinho and PSG legend David Ginola wants to see the “Special One” in the French capital for the 2023-24 season.
“If today there is someone in the locker room who could manage to sanctify all of these talents and make sure that everything goes better, I think it’s a boy like José Mourinho,” Ginola said (h/t Paris Fans).
“Afterwards, for him, all that may be in the past, and things have passed for ten years, but in terms of image and respect, he is someone who will have the respect of his players because he won things. Wherever José Mourinho went, he had the respect of his players.”
While Ginola might be keen on his former club to land the Portuguese tactician, the Roma boss might not be arriving after all. A recent report from Le Parisien reveals that sporting advisor Luis Campos might not want to risk his friendship with Mourinho.
The two men are close, but with the grind that comes with working daily together, perhaps Campos might not want to put that strain and possibly lose out on having Mourinho as a friend.
As a result, if Galtier does get sacked after the 2022-23 season ends, it will be interesting to see what direction PSG takes to fill the position.
