PSG Faces Competition from Arsenal, Newcastle for FC Zenit Star – Report

Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos will have to revamp the forward position. One target, who was linked to the French capital during the January transfer window, is FC Zenit winger Malcolm.

Lionel Messi’s contract expires on June 30 and Neymar Jr. has an uncertain future. The Brazilian’s name is linked to a move to the Premier League, so the 31-year-old could be exiting.

90min reported on Tuesday, citing sources, that Arsenal, Manchester City and Newcastle have all been alerted to Malcom’s potential availability. At the same time, PSG is also keen on the player after failing to get a deal over the line in the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old is racking up 23 goals and nine assists from just 27 top-flight outings this 2022-23 season.

Zenit is well conscious of the interest Malcolm is generating from other European clubs. However, given he signed a new contract last summer to tie himself to the Russian side until 2027.

Nonetheless, Zenit is prepared to demand a significant fee for his services. As for a transfer fee, the Saint Petersburg side will want upwards of the £40 million they spent to sign Malcom from Barcelona in 2019.
