Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier’s future is uncertain as rumors of possible replacements continue to surface. As a result, the capital club will secure the 2022-23 Ligue 1 title and likely move on from the French tactician.
In a column for PSG Talk, CBS Sports reporter Jonathan Johnson noted five candidates that the capital club should pursue to bring stability to the managerial position.
One of the names that Johnson highlights is Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp. The German tactician would bring stability to the French giants has seen a rotating door of managers over the last few years.
“Liverpool finds themselves in an interesting situation given their difficult season, and the German tactician could find himself in the firing line unless the Reds show a new face next campaign,” Johnson wrote in his column. “Klopp might not be in immediate danger, but there is a feeling that the winds of change will keep blowing across Anfield, which could present an opportunity to approach the 55-year-old at some point and attempt to bring him in to rebuild PSG in the same way that he helped to reconstruct Liverpool.
“It is unlikely for a variety of reasons, but Klopp does like long-term reconstruction projects, and the French giants should be willing to offer him that given their desperate current state and need for clear direction and stability.”
Even so, while Klopp will be an excellent hire, the 55-year-old is under contract until 2026 and Fenway Sports Group isn’t going to have a full takeover of the Premier League club.
As a result, Klopp will likely go nowhere and continue to build what he’s done at Liverpool despite the challenges the squad has faced this 2022-23 season.
