Leaving as a Champion? Mourinho Reportedly Plots Roma Exit Amid PSG Links

AS Roma boss Jose Mourinho continues to be linked to Paris Saint-Germain’s managerial job. The rumors persist that the 60-year-old is the leading candidate to lead the French giants for the 2023-24 season.

La Repubblica reported (h/t Romagiallorossa) on Saturday that PSG continues to press on the accelerator to bring Mourinho to Paris.

Furthermore, the Italian media outlet notes that PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos would like the Portuguese tactician to be on the Ligue 1 giants’ bench next year at all costs. Campos is keen on Mourinho that he has no other names on his coaching candidate list.

Roma is in the UEFA Europa League final against Sevilla, and according to the reporting, the “Special One” intends to win the trophy with the Serie A side and say goodbye.

Mourinho has a contract until 2024, but La Repubblica cites that the lack of ambition at Roma is what is likely why he will leave this summer rather than see out his final year and extend his contract.

At PSG, Campos will look to build a project with Mourinho and Kylian Mbappe leading the charge. It will be interesting to see if the capital announces the sacking of Christophe Galtier in the coming weeks too.
