Neymar Jr.’s 2022-23 season ended after an ankle injury against Lille OSC on Feb. 19. The 31-year-old has since had surgery and rehabbed to prepare for the 2023-24 season.
GOAL’s Marc Mechenoua reported on Monday a vital update on the Brazilian and when he’s expected to return to the pitch. Mechenoua notes that Neymar will be out for four to five months and likely won’t see the field until November.

The veteran forward being out to start next season might be a thorn in a possible transfer away from the capital club. Neymar’s agent is reportedly working behind the scenes for a possible move to Chelsea.
According to various reports, PSG looks to move on from Neymar this summer; however, the delay in starting the season could be why some teams like Chelsea stay away from the player.
Nonetheless, if Neymar can show any interested clubs, his rehab and process on the road to recovery might calm some concerns. As a result, a summer transfer could go through if an interested side is comfortable with the Brazilian’s recovery and give him a fresh start somewhere else.
