Barcelona Ready to Pounce on Messi, Awaits LaLiga OK – Report

La Liga is holding up FC Barcelona’s plans to reunite with Lionel Messi this summer. Nonetheless, if the financial package does receive the green light, the Spanish club is racing to sign the 35-year-old.

Mundo Deportivo reported on Saturday that once the league gives the OK, there are three priorities for the Catalan side, one being the return of Messi to Camp Nou.

Messi has already said that he intends to examine his future once the 2022-23 season is over, giving Barcelona time to move the necessary players to seal an attractive proposal.

If the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is to return, Barcelona has to offload the necessary players. The veteran’s contract expires on June 30, so it will be interesting to see how long Messi gives the club.

The Argentine’s entourage, for their part, has not been idly by and has listened to other proposals in case Barça cannot finally finalize his return.

As for the other priorities, Barcelona hopes to register the contract extensions for Ronald Araujo and Gavi.
