While Lionel Messi’s contract extension is garnering all the attention as to where he’ll play the 2023-24 season, Sergio Ramos’ future remains in limbo.
Nonetheless, AS reported on Tuesday, citing sources, that Ramos’ extension is on a good path considering the situations regarding Milan Skriniar and Presnel Kimpembe.
Skriniar, who underwent surgery this week in France and with whom the Parisian team has an agreement in principle to land in Paris as a free agent. Meanwhile, Kimpembe is out until at least November with an Achilles injury.
AS added in their reporting that there is still yet to be an offer to extend his contract, nor are negotiations expected to intensify until June.
Both club president Nasser Al Khelaïfi and sporting advisor Luis Campos were delighted with Ramos ‘ performance against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
It will be interesting to see if PSG does proceed with extending Ramos, who is 37 and perhaps the capital club might be kicking his replacement for the summer of 2024.
