Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos had a bag of mixed results with his additions to the midfield. However, it appears the Portuguese club chief will return to the drawing board.
Corriere dello Sport (h/t Paris Fans) reported on Thursday, confirming a recent report, that Liverpool and PSG are keen on Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella.
The Italian media outlet notes that if Inter doesn’t qualify for next the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League, then it could mark the end of Barella at Inter despite the 26-year-old having a contract until June 2026.
Currently, the only way for Inter to punch their ticker for the Champions League next season is to win the competition this year, as they’re currently in the semifinals.
In Serie A, Inter occupies sixth place in the standings and are five points back of fourth place AS Roma, who holds the final Champions League spot.
Transfermarkt puts Barella’s transfer value at €70 million, but if Liverpool and PSG are involved, that price could increase.
