The potential departure of Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr.’s inability to remain healthy has put sporting advisor Luis Campos looking at forward options for this summer transfer window.
L’Equipe’s Loïc Tanzi reports that Campos is relaunching his pursuit of 19-year-old Rayan Cherki. The Olympique Lyonnais attacking midfielder, who can also play as a winger, is under contract until 2024, so the French club might have to sell this summer.
Nonetheless, PSG faces plenty of competition to land the teenager. The Premier League, most notably Newcastle United, and German clubs have followed the French star.

Campos hopes the following choices the capital club will make for this summer will allow him to have a bit more financial leeway to avoid a soap opera and a new disillusionment.
Regarding a possible transfer fee, Transfermarkt puts Cherki’s value at €27 million. Not an expensive target for the French giants, but if Premier League clubs are involved, expect a higher cost.
Cherki has scored four goals and recorded four assists in 29 appearances in all competitions this 2022-23 season.
