Transfer News: Lionel Messi, Al-Hilal Will Not Happen After Latest Update

Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi will have plenty of options once he becomes a free agent in June. Should he exit the capital club, there’s the FC Barcelona and Inter Miami route.

However, one possible destination to appears off the table continues to be heading to Saudi Arabia. Football journalist Uri Levy appeared on i24News English and shared the massive offer that Al-Hilal sent to the 35-year-old.

Levy said, citing sources, that the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner rejected a $400 million per year offer from Al-Hilal, who has “basically the table is set” to have dinner with the Argentine.

A potential Messi arrival would make him the latest superstar to come to Saudi Arabia after Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr last December. Nonetheless, Levy’s reporting does align with the rumors of Messi wanting to remain in Europe.

It doesn’t seem putting a lot of money will be swaying Messi to go somewhere as the veteran goal scorer likely wants one last crack at winning a UEFA Champions League, as it’s been nearly a decade since he won that trophy.
