Spanish Outlet Reveals PSG’s Latest Approach to Keep Messi in Paris

Paris Saint-Germain and Lionel Messi possibly remaining together has cooled off since the capital club was eliminated from the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 in March after losing to Bayern Munich.

As a result, rumors of a possible departure have arisen in recent weeks. However, Sport (h/t Paris Fans) reports that the capital club isn’t done trying to negotiate Messi possibly remaining with PSG, with some possible reinforcements at the table.

The Spanish outlet notes that discussions between the two parties will be led by club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and the desired wish of Kylian Mbappé to see the Argentine stay past this 2022-23 season.

Now the information is coming from Spain, so take it with caution but the capital club has always appeared to want to hold onto the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner but wants the veteran goal scorer to take a pay cut reportedly.

However, that might be challenging for the Ligue 1 side as they hope that talks between the two sides can allow them to reach an extension before Messi officially becomes a free agent in June.
