Report: PSG’s Projected Starting 11 vs. Lorient – Where Will Messi Play?

Paris Saint-Germain has a mere six matches remaining on its Ligue 1 schedule, including its upcoming home matchup against Lorient.

PSG has strung together a three-match winning streak in Ligue 1 play. The reigning Ligue 1 champions are just coming off of a 2-1 away win over Angers — a fixture in which Kylian Mbappe managed to notch a double in league play for the first time in two months.

As noted by TyC Sports, here is how PSG manager Christophe Galtier could line up his squad for its 33rd match of the Ligue 1 season.

Donnarumma; Pereira, Marquinhos, Ramos; Hakimi, Ruiz, Vitinha, Soler, Bernat; Messi, Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe currently leads Ligue 1 in goals this season with 22, as he holds a one-goal lead over Lille OSC forward Jonathan David for the top spot on this list. The French international sure could use another double in Ligue 1 to create some much-needed separation away from the likes of David and Olympique Lyonnais striker Alexandre Lacazette on this leaderboard.

Galtier has been regularly calling on Messi to fill one of the two center forward spots in his 3-5-2 formation as of late. Barring a major surprise, Messi should once again tag along with Mbappe upfront in this formation against Lorient.

PSG scored at least two goals in four out of its last five meetings against Lorient in Ligue 1 play.
