PSG Face Competition for Jose Mourinho From South American Nation, per Report

AS Roma manager José Mourinho has been linked to Paris Saint-Germain over the past few weeks after the capital crashed out in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, this time losing to Bayern Munich.

Foot Mercato reported on Monday that Mourinho remains very enthusiastic about taking the reins of PSG. The information also reveals that the capital club is one of the few projects the Portuguese manager would leave Roma for.

However, if PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos is keen on landing Mourinho this summer, the Ligue 1 side faces stiff competition for him.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein also reported on Monday that Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the Brazilian Football Confederation, likes Mourinho due to his track record for winning trophies, charisma and ability to speak the language.

Nonetheless, if Brazil wants Mourinho to be the national team manager, it depends on the Portuguese manager, but Ornstein notes that a departure from Roma could be complicated.

Mourinho is a backup plan if they cannot land Carlo Ancelotti, so that might lead to PSG being a more favorable destination since the French giants could view the Roma boss as their No. 1 option.
