Messi Receives Astronomical Offer From Al Hilal to Ditch Barcelona, PSG, per Report

Lionel Messi reportedly wants to continue in Europe next season despite his uncertain future with Paris Saint-Germain. However, it doesn’t mean Plan B options such as Al Hilal won’t be putting lucrative offers on the table for the Argentine.

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday, citing sources, that Al Hilal sent an official bid to Messi with a salary worth more than €400 million per year.

However, the Saudi Arabian club does have a significant hurdle standing in the way of pursuing Messi, which is that the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner wants persistent in wanting to play in Europe.

Messi hasn’t won the UEFA Champions League in nearly a decade, and the Argentine likely intends to prepare for the 2024 Copa América, which will occur in the United States. Argentina is the defending champions, and Messi might want to help defend that title.

As for Barcelona, the Spanish club is waiting on Financial Fair Play to send a bid and open talks. Meanwhile, Messi and PSG appear nearing a divorce as the two sides don’t agree on wages, and the veteran goal scorer is waiting on sporting guarantees.
