Paris Saint-Germain’s winning streak in Ligue 1 play was snapped on matchday 33, as Lorient came away with a 3-1 away win.
PSG had quite a match to forget against Lorient, from the red card that Achraf Hakimi earned in the first half of the contest to the late quick transition goal that the reigning Ligue 1 champions allowed. Overall, PSG tallied a mere four shots on target in the fixture, with two of them coming from Kylian Mbappe.
Speaking to Canal+ Sport after the match, PSG football advisor Luis Campos took some time to send a message to the club’s supporters.
“Before making this self-criticism, it is important to tell the fans that we understand very well that they are disappointed today,” Campos said. “And so are we. I just came back from the locker room, I saw a whole team very disappointed with the defeat. It’s true that it’s hard, but we have to react quickly.”
Campos was also asked if he believes that the PSG players are still behind manager Christophe Galtier, and the longtime football executive kept it simple with his response.
“I’m sure, yes,” Campos said.
With a win from Olympique de Marseille over Auxerre later today, PSG’s lead atop the league table will be cut down to five points.
