Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos will likely dive into the free agent market this summer. Financial Fair Play is watching the capital club, so they might want to avoid spending big money on transfers.
Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot will be a free agent in June and while there’s speculation regarding a possible return, the midfielder was asked about his relationship with Kylian Mbappé.
“He is a player who has reached maturity, whether from a footballing point of view or even in his life,” Rabiot told Téléfoot (h/t Canal Supporters). “We see that he is a completely different player and man. I had the chance to know him in Paris a long time ago. We really see someone calm, who is sure of his strength. He knows what he’s doing. Personally, he gives me a lot of confidence. When I know I have him behind me, it gives me a lot of confidence. I know there is solid.
“Already when I was at the club, we got along very well. We were already playing on the same side and it was going well. Kylian is also someone who has grown up; he understands the game and the important players he has around him and whom he needs. What he says is important.”
The capital club has already secured one free transfer in Inter Milan defender Milan Škriniar; however, there’s plenty of speculation as to whether the French giants should reunite with their former youth product.
While Rabiot left the club in 2019, not on the best of terms, it seems the 27-year-old has matured. After his behavior for not making the French squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Les Bleus manager Didier Deschamps did welcome him back for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Campos’ midfield signing have brought mixed results, so perhaps bringing Rabiot to help the group might be the route he takes this summer.
