FC Barcelona supporters have their hopes set on high after chanting for Lionel Messi during the Spanish club’s 0-0 draw to Girona at Camp Nou on Monday.
Barcelona manager Xavi responded to what the crowd was chanting during the contest as Jordi Cruyff shared his thoughts hearing the supporters again chant for Messi.
Nonetheless, Cruyff opted to play the politician card and stated that the Spanish side must “respect” the 35-year-old’s contract since he plays for Paris Saint-Germain.

Messi’s contract with PSG expires in June and there’s plenty of speculation about where he’ll play next season. One of the options is possibly returning to Camp Nou, but the financial side of the sport could be a significant hurdle that stops a possible reunion.
