Galtier Sends a Strong Message to PSG Players After the 1-0 Defeat vs. Lyon

Paris Saint-Germain lost back-to-back Ligue 1 fixtures for the first time this season, as it came away with a 1-0 home loss to Olympique Lyonnais on matchday 29.

PSG had its way in possession in the match, and it also created multiple high-percentage goal-scoring chances. In the end, PSG failed to score a single goal for the third time in its last four matches in all competitions.

PSG manager Christophe Galtier was far from pleased with the performance of his squad against Lyon. During his post-match press conference, Galtier acknowledged that while it is a long season, the team simply must be “more invested.”

“There can be mental wear and tear over a long season,” Galtier said. “Many players have traveled but when we are champions, we must be in reaction and determination, be much more invested.

“Even if the players tried, it’s far too little to turn around a game and an opponent like OL.”

Even with its defeat to Lyon, PSG still holds a comfortable lead atop the Ligue 1 standings, although the French powerhouse will have back-to-back pivotal league fixtures coming up against OGC Nice and RC Lens.
