Former French Forward Makes a Case Why Mourinho Would Be the Right Manager For This PSG Squad

Former French forward Jerome Rothen believes that AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho would be an ideal coach to manage the current Paris Saint-Germain squad.

PSG has been linked with multiple managers as of late amid Christophe Galtier’s uncertain future at the club. For one, PSG football advisor Luis Campos reportedly views Mourinho as the “main objective” to replace Galtier. From Mourinho’s standpoint, he reportedly would be open to joining PSG, which comes as he has a mere one more year left on his contract at AS Roma.

Rothen is not calling for PSG to sack Galtier, who has one year left on his contract at PSG. If PSG decides to part ways with Galtier after this season, Rothen would like to see his former club bring in the two-time UEFA Champions League-winning manager.

“I do not ask that Galtier be removed from his position,” Rothen said on RMC Sport’s Rothen s’enflamme” program. “But if it is the choice of the Parisian leaders, I think we should not look any further: Jose Mourinho. A coach with a grip, who has won, with a lot of experience and who will be respected by all the players in the locker room.

“He will be able to enforce a certain discipline, which has disappeared at PSG for years.”

Galtier is still the manager of PSG, and he is set to lead the team in its upcoming Ligue 1 away fixture against Angers.
