RC Lens defender Facundo Medina will have quite a challenge coming up on Ligue 1 matchday 31, as he will square off with Paris Saint-Germain forwards Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
Medina last faced PSG in January when RC Lens picked up a 3-1 home win over the reigning Ligue 1 champions. Medina earned a start in the fixture as a center-back, and while Messi did not play in the match, the Argentine defender still had quite a task to help contain the Mbappe-led PSG attack.
Medina recently took some time to speak on Ebeplay’s “Son Aviones” show ahead of the upcoming Ligue 1 matchup between RC Lens and PSG. He touched on just what it is like to defend against Messi and Mbappe, and he noted that when it comes to going up against the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner on the pitch, he has a “fear” of hurting his Argentine counterpart.
“I think it is more difficult for me to mark Leo for fear of hurting him, of course,” Medina said. “And the other, obviously it is difficult, but you know.”
Overall, a win for RC Lens over PSG on Ligue 1 matchday 31 will trim the reigning France top-flight champions’ lead atop the league table down to a mere three points.
