Why PSG Must Push to Sign This Chelsea, Manchester United Transfer Target

Paris Saint-Germain is expected to have quite a chaotic summer transfer window later this year. PSG has reportedly already shortlisted a few players who it would like to sign in July, including Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.

PSG football advisor Luis Campos has reportedly pinpointed Osimhen as the club’s “priority” for the summer window. Premier League clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea have reportedly inquired about the possibility of signing the versatile forward, so it would take much for PSG to bet on itself and go all out to complete such a signing, and one could place a bet on an online slot bonus.

PSG would have to shell out a high transfer fee in order to bring Osimhen to Ligue 1, as Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis “expects” to haul in at least €100 million in any deal involving the Nigerian forward. In the big picture, it would be worth it for the reigning Ligue 1 champions to sign Serie A’s current leading goal-scorer.

Lionel Messi is currently slated to become a free agent after this season, so unless PSG reaches an agreement on another hefty yearly salary deal with the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, the club may then very well be on the lookout for an immediate replacement. While Osimhen’s play style is not similar to that of Messi, the Nigerian international has what it takes to seamlessly slot into PSG’s starting 11 with ease.

PSG had plans last year to bring in a true center-forward to have such a player tag along with Kylian Mbappe upfront in its attack. PSG manager Christophe Galtier confirmed in September that the club had such transfer plans, and while the Ligue 1 side was linked with the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Gianluca Scamacca, it ultimately failed to sign such a talent.

With Osimhen in the fold, PSG could call on Mbappe to play right behind him as a secondary striker, as he often does so with Olivier Giroud in the France national team’s 4-3-1-2 setup. It would then provide Mbappe with more freedom to drop deep and get involved in the build-up of play.

Overall, Osimhen’s goal-scoring prowess could add another dimension to PSG’s attack. Not only has the Napoli star emerged as one of the most potent goal-scorers in the sport today, but he is not one to shy away from defending when Napoli is out of possession.

For now, PSG club officials sure will continue to keep a close eye on Osimhen over the remainder of the season. The Napoli forward has tallied 21 goals and four assists in Serie A play so far this season.
