Why Messi Has Yet to Make a Decision on Future, per French Journalist

Every day, new information feeds the Lionel Messi rumor mill as the 35-year-old has an uncertain future in the French capital with his Paris Saint-Germain contract expiring in June.

The latest comes from L’Equipe’s Loïc Tanzi, who appeared on L’Equipe de Greg and provided the latest regarding the Argentine’s future with the Ligue 1 side. Tanzi revealed that Messi is waiting for other offers before making his decision (h/t Canal Supporters).

Additionally, the French reporter states that if FC Barcelona were to approach his camp with a decent offer, the 2022 FIFA World Cup would return to Camp Nou.

It would be in their best interest for PSG to have Messi exit, considering the veteran isn’t keen on lowering his wage demands. The capital club remains under the eye of Financial Fair Play, so they need to cut their salary and Messi’s would go a long way in helping that.

RMC Sports pundit Daniel Riolo is one of the many French media members calling for the Ligue 1 giants to move on from Messi and head in a different direction.

“Messi, he is cooked and especially his side I do not speak, I never say anything, it feeds me to a point which is unbearable,” Riolo said.

“It feeds me. See him happy with Argentina, limit on the dance floor, I think it’s extraordinary, but so much the procrastination of the rumor … They will really realize that Messi has nothing to do with PSG?”
