Kylian Mbappe made history in Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-2 victory over FC Nantes on Saturday at the Parc des Princes. The 24-year-old scored his 201st career goal with the French giants, becoming the capital club’s all-time leading goal scorer.
Canal Supporters highlighted an interesting stat: The top five players who have assisted the most on goals scored by Mbappe. Neymar Jr. leads the list at No. 1 with 26 assists and then it’s former PSG forward Angel Di Maria with 24 assists.
As for Lionel Messi, the 35-year-old isn’t too far behind Neymar and Di Maria, with the Argentine having 17 assists. However, after these three players, there’s a significant gap as No. 4 on the list is Edison Cavani, who has nine assists.
Then there’s a tie for No. 5 on the list, as Marco Verratti and Julian Draxler have eight assists each to Mbappe.
PSG now needs to focus on their UEFA Champions League second-leg clash against Bayern Munich on Wednesday at Allianz Arena, where the squad finds itself down 1-0. Nonetheless, many hope Messi will increase his assist total to Mbappe, allowing the Ligue 1 side to advance.
