Moussa Diaby is one of the many Paris Saint-Germain youth products that left the capital club and found success abroad. The 23-year-old has found a home with Bayer Leverkusen and has become one of the top French talents.
As a result, there’s a growing market for Diaby and transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano gave the latest in his “Daily Briefing” column for Caught Offside, where he revealed the teams that could battle for the Bundesliga star.
Romano noted that Arsenal has long appreciated Diaby, adding that the Gunners have followed the winger for almost two years. However, the Premier League side isn’t alone, as PSG and Newcastle United are also in the mix for Diaby.
Bayer Leverkusen has been stingy with selling the player, who’s under contract until 2025 and has scored 11 goals while recording six assists in all competitions so far this 2022-23 season.
The transfer window journalist continues by saying that the German side will only allow Diaby to exit if they receive a sum they see fit. Transfermarkt currently has Diaby’s transfer value at €50 million.
It will be interesting to see what Diaby does in this scenario. Would he prefer to challenge himself in the Premier League, or is the opportunity to head home while playing a prominent role for PSG something he cannot turn down?
Pundits like Thierry Henry have advised Luis Campos to bring in more young French talent and Diaby would be one of them.
