Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos will have to return to the drawing board to revamp the midfield as certain players haven’t integrated well into the French giants.
Renato Sanches and Carlos Soler have struggled this 2022-23 season. As a result, another midfielder could be coming into the fold and ESPN’s Rob Dawson reported on Monday, citing sources, that Andreas Pereira has caught the attention of PSG.
Pereira is viewed as a cost-effective signing in the region of £30 million while they deal with Financial Fair Play concerns. Nonetheless, the French giants aren’t alone in their interest in the Fulham midfielder.
Chelsea is among the clubs monitoring as a possible replacement for Mason Mount, whose contract with the London-based club expires in 2024. Atlético de Madrid is also in the mix to land the Brazilian, who’s under contract until 2026.
The 27-year-old has blossomed into a creative player at Fulham as Only five players have registered more than his six Premier League assists this season.
ESPN does note that Pereira is comfortable at Fulham but would find the chance to join one of Europe’s leading clubs challenging to turn down, considering it could mean UEFA Champions League football next season.
