The future of Lionel Messi might take the 35-year-old back to FC Barcelona despite leaving the Spanish club in tears two years ago.
Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna reported on Thursday, citing sources, that the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner’s priority is to return to Barcelona after his deal with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June.

Meetings between Jorge Messi and Joan Laporta have already taken place, and there are regular exchanges also occur between the PSG star and manager Xavi.
Nonetheless, the main sticking point is the Catalan side’s finances. If Barcelona wants to reunite with Messi, they must sell off various players to ensure they comply with La Liga’s salary cap. Whether that occurs remains to be seen.
Additionally, the Ligue 1 side reportedly isn’t willing to meet the salary demands that Messi’s camp desires. He wants to earn wages similar to Kylian Mbappé, which might be too much money for an aging star.
Between the many defeats of PSG, the UEFA Champions League elimination against Bayern Munich, a more than tense relationship with the supporters, and a falling out with manager Christophe Galtier, the Parisian adventure is seriously complicated.
Messi has to come back at any cost
Messi should return & retire at Barcelona where his strength & best effort are given accolades. He & his family will happy there together with their friends & supporters.
