Report: PSG’s Projected Starting 11 vs. Bayern Munich – Which Midfielders Will Join Verratti?

Paris Saint-Germain will have the biggest match of its season on Wednesday, as it will square off with Bayern Munich in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie.

PSG and Bayern Munich each picked up a league win on Saturday. PSG took care of business with a 4-2 home win over Nantes in Ligue 1 play. On the other hand, Bayern Munich notched a 2-1 away victory against VfB Stuttgart to maintain its first place standing in the Bundesliga table.

As noted by UEFA’s official website, PSG manager Christophe Galtier could roll out this starting 11 against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Galtier called on his squad to play under a 3-5-2 setup in each of the last two Ligue 1 matchdays. PSG could once again play under a 3-5-2 formation on Wednesday, with Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, and Marco Verratti leading the Ligue 1 side’s midfield setup against the reigning Bundesliga champions.

Lionel Messi has been in keen form as of late, chipping in with five goal contributions in PSG’s last three league fixtures. He sure will look to record a goal contribution in the Champions League knockout stage for the first time in his PSG career.

PSG will look to clinch a spot in the Champions League quarterfinal round for the first time in two years.
