PSG’s Projected Starting 11 vs. Rennes – Will Messi Start?

Paris Saint-Germain will have its 28th Ligue 1 fixture of the season on Sunday, as it will square off with Rennes at the Parc des Princes.

PSG managed to get back on the right track following its 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich, clinching a 2-1 away win against Brest on Ligue 1 matchday 27. The Ligue 1 powerhouse needed a late goal from Kylian Mbappe to escape from the contest with a win.

PSG manager Christophe Galtier could call on these 11 players to start against Rennes this Sunday.

Donnarumma; Pembele, Danilo, Bitshiabu, Mendes; Vitinha, Verratti, Ruiz, Sanches; Messi, Mbappe

Fabian Ruiz has been as reliable as could be in his first season at PSG, tallying 18 appearances so far in the Ligue 1 campaign. From his versatility on the pitch to his sheer passing prowess, he has often helped to add another dimension to PSG’s midfield setup. The Spanish international could be penciled in to start against Rennes.

Lionel Messi has recorded at least one goal contribution in his last six Ligue 1 appearances. Barring any major surprises, the Argentine will be called on to lead PSG’s attack alongside Kylian Mbappe on Sunday.

PSG has won just one out of its last four meetings against Rennes in Ligue 1 play.
