Paris Saint-Germain announced on Monday that Neymar’s season has officially come to an end. PSG noted that Neymar will undergo a ligament repair operation later this week to “avoid a major risk of recurrence.”
The Brazilian forward has been out of action since suffering an ankle ailment in PSG’s Ligue 1 win over Lille OSC last month, and he will be cleared to return to training in three to four months.
Neymar later took to Twitter to react to the season-ending injury news.

Neymar featured in 20 matches in Ligue 1 play this season, where he tallied 13 goals and 11 assists.
