Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has lauded Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe tandem as “one of the best duos in the world.”
Messi and Mbappe have led PSG’s attack as of late. For one, the two forwards starred in PSG’s 4-2 win over Nantes on Ligue 1 matchday 26, where they each scored a goal in the contest.
Nagelsmann has been keeping a close watch on Messi and Mbappe as of late, and as he told Gianluca Di Marzio ahead of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg matchup between Bayern Munich and PSG, he has been left in awe of the two superstars.
“Messi and Mbappe are one of the best duos in the world,” Nagelsmann said. “It’s not easy to defend them. Mbappe looks for deep runs behind the defensive line, while Messi tries to pass the ball to him.
“They are very quick in their movements, play one-two’s, and look for each other.”
Messi and Mbappe are looking ahead to Wednesday’s Champions League showdown between PSG and Bayern Munich, as they sure will look to do what they can to help the reigning Ligue 1 champions clinch a spot in the quarterfinal round of the competition.
