Following a roller-coaster debut season at Paris Saint-Germain, Lionel Messi has managed to turn it around in his ongoing second campaign with the Ligue 1 side.
Messi has been a vital player for PSG in all competitions so far this season. The Argentine forward has chipped in with four goals and four assists in UEFA Champions League play. Furthermore, he currently leads Ligue 1 in goal contributions with 25.
Speaking to PSG TV, Messi took some time to note that he has simply felt more “comfortable” this year than in his first season at PSG.
“Yes, it’s true that I feel very well,” Messi said. “The first year, I needed a little time to adapt to Paris for different reasons, but I started this season really differently, with a lot of desire.
“I feel more comfortable with the club, with the city, with everything that Paris means. And the truth is that I am really enjoying this season.”
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has been in keen form as of late, logging five goal contributions in PSG’s last three Ligue 1 fixtures.
Messi sure now has much of his focus set on PSG’s upcoming Champions League round of 16 second leg matchup against Bayern Munich.
