Lionel Messi Reportedly Receiving Eye-Popping Salary Offer From Saudi Club

The future of Lionel Messi is a hot topic, with the 35-year-old’s contract expiring in June. As a result, the rumor mill is running wild with speculation about where the Argentine will play next season.

Messi extending at PSG or perhaps heading to Inter Miami are the two likely possibilities but there are other options. A return to FC Barcelona is also being reported; however, there’s also a Saudi Arabia.

After Al-Nassr courted Cristiano Ronaldo, other Saudi Arabian clubs could be looking to land Messi. Spanish journalist Joan Fontes reported on Tuesday, citing sources, that Al-Ittihad FC would be in a position to make a dizzying offer to get the services of Messi this summer.

The Jeddah club is reportedly willing to offer an €88 million per season salary on a two-year contract, making him the highest-paid player in football history.

It will be interesting to see what Messi will do with his future, as the second leg UEFA Champions League contest could eliminate PSG from the sweepstakes. An elimination from the tournament might have many believing it’s time to move on from the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner.
