The future of current Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier remains uncertain after the capital club crashed out in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos might have to pull the plug on Galtier and RMC Sport pundit Jérôme Rothen expects there to be a change. As a result, Rothen is campaigning for current AS Roma manager José Mourinho.
“First of all, I am not asking that Christophe Galtier be removed from office,” Rothen said Tuesday on RMC Sport. “But if this is the choice decided by the Parisian leaders, in fact I think that we should not look any further than José Mourinho.
“He is a tough coach, a coach who has won and who has had a lot of experience. He will be respected by all the players in the locker room.”

Mourinho has plenty of experience coaching at major clubs such as Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid. The Portuguese tactician has won the UEFA Champions League twice, so he knows what it takes to get to the top of the mountain.
“Apart from Tottenham, where it was not an easy mission and where he did not win a title, all the clubs where he went have won titles. I mean all the clubs, including recently,” Rothen continued. “What I like about José Mourinho is that he is a f–king passionate footballer. Sorry to say it like that, because that is missing. We are good men or not; people are not going to be shocked by that …
“I am convinced that he will manage to move this club and give it a good direction. With all the experience he has and because he is a passionate person, I am convinced that he will wake up a large part of the people who are passionate about Paris Saint-Germain and who are asleep today and say nothing more.”
It will be interesting to see if Campos goes down this route or decides to give Galtier another opportunity next season by adding more depth on the bench, allowing him to compete in all three competitions.
Perhaps Mourinho is too big of a name that the club chief cannot pass up on appointing him to the bench.
