This week, the Lionel Messi rumors hit overdrive and one of them included a reported departure from a training session.
Messi’s exit during this week’s practice was reportedly due to his disappointment with what Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier was offering. Nonetheless, the French tactician provided more clarity to the situation.
“I saw [the rumor],” Galtier told Canal Plus (h/t Paris Fans). “Leo in the middle of the session on Wednesday, felt discomfort in the adductor, [so] he cut it short; the next day, he remained in care and was able to participate in the two sessions afterward. Nothing happened between Leo and the band and between Leo and me.”
Nonetheless, the situation at PSG is tense as the squad attempts to hold onto its lead in Ligue 1 while dealing with the aftermath of their UEFA Champions League elimination.
The capital club won last week against Stade Brestois; however, it was an ugly 2-1 result, but the French giants then followed up the performance with a 2-0 loss to Stade Rennais on Saturday at the Parc des Princes.
It will be interesting to see how this week affects not only Galtier’s status in the dressing room with the players but also his job status since there are rumors regarding a possible departure after the 2022-23 season.
