Why PSG’s Neymar Has Future Playing Poker, Competitor Says

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar Jr. has been criticized for staying late and using off days to play poker. However, the 31-year-old might have a future in poker post-football career.

RMC Sport in France spoke to several of his professional competitors who believe Neymar may have a future in the game. However, despite the drama it produced in football circles, there was a very distinct vibe among his fellow opponents at the European Poker Tour table.

Neymar made the cut early on, and after staying the entire night on Wednesday, he qualified for Thursday’s second event but eventually finished 49th in the EPT Paris Mystery Bounty.

“He has the potential,” competitor Thomas Eychenne said. “He has the mind of a competitor because he played at the highest level in football.

“From the moment we play at the highest level in an area, I think that we already have a very important advantage over our competitors. He has gone through difficulties in football and he has the weapons to fight despite technical failures.”

The PSG star has other aspirations outside of the pitch, including gaming and poker. So when Neymar decides to hang up his boots and look at what lies ahead in his future, he can take plenty of routes to fill the hole that football leaves behind.
