Kylian Mbappe has missed a golden opportunity to provide Paris Saint-Germain with an early 1-0 lead in its Ligue 1 away fixture against Montpellier.
PSG was awarded a penalty kick in the early stages of the contest after Montpellier defender Christopher Jullien fouled Sergio Ramos in the penalty box. Mbappe wound up being the one to take the kick, and in the end, Montpellier goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte managed to save the French forward’s penalty attempt with ease.
However, Lecomte was off the line on the penalty kick, and match referee Jeremie Pignard ended up granting PSG another penalty attempt. Mbappe once again failed to hit the back of the net, as he whiffed on both the penalty kick and the rebound attempt.
