Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe recorded a brace and provided an assist in the capital club’s 3-0 victory over Olympique de Marseille on Sunday at the Stade Vélodrome.
Former Arsenal and current Prime Video pundit Thierry Henry didn’t hide his feelings regarding the 24-year-old’s form. Lionel Messi provided both assists for Mbappe; meanwhile, the French international returned the favor.
“When he’s like that… He wasn’t there in the [French Cup], [and] he didn’t lose against Marseille,” Henry said postgame on Sunday (h/t RMC Sport). “So he was keen to show that he is still the boss. And once again, he showed it. He is scary.”
Additionally, Henry noted how different PSG is when Mbappe is in the starting 11, whereas when he’s missing, as was the case when the capital club fell to Marseille in the Coupe de France Round of 16.
“When Kylian is on the pitch, everything changes and it’s a little easier,” Henry continued.
Mbappe, and Messi for that matter, could be finding their top form at the right time as the team marches toward their second-leg contest against Bayern Munich on March 8 at Allianz Arena.
Nonetheless, there’s one more match before Mbappe and Co. can begin thinking about a comeback over the German giants when they host FC Nantes on Saturday at the Parc des Princes.
