There has been much speculation as of late regarding Christophe Galtier’s managerial future at Paris Saint-Germain. According to L’Equipe’s Loic Tanzi, Galtier may not be going anywhere anytime soon.
During a recent appearance on the “L’Equipe de Greg” program, Tanzi touched on Galtier’s future at PSG, where he noted that at the moment, the club is not “thinking” about parting ways with the French coach.
PSG club officials are “waiting” for the return leg of the team’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Bayern Munich. Even if PSG fails to eliminate Bayern Munich next month, the current trend points toward the club deciding not to sack Galtier during the season. PSG prefers to wait until after the ongoing campaign to make a final decision on this matter.
PSG may already have an eye on Galtier’s eventual successor. Foot Mercato noted on Tuesday that PSG views Thomas Tuchel as the “priority” choice to replace Galtier. Tuchel managed PSG for three seasons, where he won six trophies.
PSG will return to Ligue 1 play on Sunday with an away showdown against rival Olympique de Marseille.
