Report Reveals More Clubs Attempting to Enter Messi Sweepstakes

As of now, it appears as though the Lionel Messi sweepstakes is between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Miami. However, a third party has always been a potential offer from Saudi Arabia.

FOX Sports Argentina reporter Veronica Brunati reported on Wednesday, citing sources, that Saudi clubs are attempting to contract the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner when his deal with PSG expires in June.

Coming off the heels of seeing Al-Nassr sign Cristiano Ronaldo to a two-and-a-half-year contract estimated to be worth $75 million a year, it might not be a surprise other clubs in the league want to sign their superstar.

Nonetheless, TyC Sports reported that the capital club is offering Messi that would keep him with the Ligue 1 side until the 2024 Copa America. The Argentine reportedly has a proposal from the MLS club, but there is no official offer.

Whether Messi entertains the idea of heading to Saudia Arabia remains to be seen, but if he does, there will be more contests against his rival Ronaldo.
