Report Reveals Lionel Messi ‘Leaning’ Toward PSG Exit as Inter Miami Gets Transfer Boost

Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi could be exiting the capital club when his contract expires in June.

RMC Sport reported on Monday that the 35-year-old’s future was being discussed internally, but it seems PSG’s management isn’t the only one talking. L’Equipe is also reporting on Monday, citing sources, that now Messi is not leaning towards an extension in the French capital.

The future of Messi has been a rollercoaster as some outlets and reporters confirmed that an extension is imminent; however, as the days have gone by, nothing official has been agreed to and it seems both sides might be heading toward a separation.

Should Messi leave PSG this summer, he will likely head to Inter Miami, who have been courting the veteran, hoping the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner leaves Europe for the United States.

Messi has shown his age at times after the World Cup break and one has to wonder if he might not want to play at the high level European football demands. Along with Inter Miami, there’s also the prospect of a Saudi Arabian club swooping in for the Argentine.

Nonetheless, if the reporting is accurate, then PSG will say goodbye to Messi in June.
