Report: Galtier’s Exact Mbappe Plans for PSG’s Champions League Clash vs. Bayern Munich

Kylian Mbappe will start on the bench for the first leg of Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Bayern Munich, according to ESPN‘s Julian Laurens.

Mbappe has been out of action since suffering a notable thigh injury during the first half of PSG’s Ligue 1 away fixture against Montpellier on Feb. 1. He went on to miss PSG’s next three matches in all competitions, including its Coupe de France round of 16 contest against Olympique de Marseille last week.

PSG manager Christophe Galtier noted during a press conference on Monday that Mbappe returned to training on Sunday. The French forward was also cleared to take part in PSG’s collective training session on Monday, which played a key role in the Ligue 1 side’s call to include him in its squad list for Tuesday’s match.

Galtier added that he plans to touch base with Mbappe and PSG’s medical staff on Tuesday morning before making a final decision on whether the forward will play against the reigning Bundesliga champions.

The PSG star has combined for 25 goal contributions in the Champions League and Ligue 1 competitions so far this season.
