PSG Manager Galtier Reveals the Truth on Navas’ Nottingham Forest Move

Keylor Navas completed a half-season loan move to Nottingham Forest over the late stages of the winter transfer window. The agreement between Paris Saint-Germain and the Premier League side did not come with an option to buy, so Navas will return to the reigning Ligue 1 champions after the ongoing club season.

PSG manager Christophe Galtier took some time on Tuesday to touch on Navas’ decision to join Nottingham Forest. Galtier noted that Navas simply wanted to join a club that would provide him with playing time minutes, and in the big picture, the Costa Rican international did not have any problems with Gianluigi Donnarumma.

“Keylor behaved very well during the first six months,” Galtier said during a press conference on Tuesday. “He wanted to play, was focused on the World Cup. He wanted to leave because he wanted to play, he is passionate of the game. Obviously he didn’t accept the situation, but the behavior of both was exemplary.

“There were no problems between the two, nor with the three and four.”

Donnarumma was named PSG’s starting goalkeeper at the beginning of the season, and he has been its go-to starter at the position in the UEFA Champions League and Ligue 1 competitions. Navas only featured in two Coupe de France fixtures for PSG this season before his move to the Premier League.

Navas’ next appearance for Nottingham Forest is set to come on Saturday with an away clash against Fulham.
