This week, Paris Saint-Germain believed it would bolster its forward depth as the capital club thought it had secured Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech on a loan transfer. However, that was not the case.
In the final hours of the January transfer window, the French giants were hoping to land the 29-year-old, who wanted a move to Paris. Nonetheless, as all parties rushed against time, it resulted in errors.
PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos spoke with French media outlet Telefoot, touching on the failed Ziyech loan transfer. Nonetheless, the Portuguese club chief didn’t go into too much detail.
“Ziyech? We did everything,” Campos said. “But as with all transfers, the three parties have to work well. It worked with PSG, with Ziyech, but unfortunately, at the last moment, not with Chelsea …”
"Ziyech ? On a tout fait. Mais comme pour tous les transferts, il faut que les trois partis marchent bien. Ça a marché avec le PSG, avec Ziyech, mais malheureusement, au dernier moment, pas avec Chelsea…"

The Blues reportedly sent the wrong documents three times, resulting in the reigning Ligue 1 champions putting the paperwork just minutes late after the transfer window had closed.
Despite the paperwork being filed late, PSG did attempt to appeal the case to the Ligue de Football Professionnel. While the commission did agree that Chelsea was at fault, they still denied the appeal.
