Last week, ESPN linked Paris Saint-Germain as a candidate in the market for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
The Nigeria international has had a fantastic 2022-23 season, scoring 17 goals and recording four assists in 21 fixtures in all competitions. However, Manchester United is the other club linked to the 24-year-old and they’re ready to act.
Gazzetta dello Sport reported (h/t RMC Sport), citing sources, that the Red Devils are preparing a €120 million offer to Napoli to take Osimhen to Old Trafford, which would be the equivalent price that Chelsea paid to land midfielder Enzo Fernandez from Benfica last month.
The Napoli goal scorer could strengthen the attack of the Red Devils and offer a solution of choice for manager Erik Ten Hag, who currently uses Wout Weghorst and Anthony Martial at the No. 9 position.
As for PSG, they’ll have to know if Osimhen is the player they want to compete for the striker role; they’ll have to know it will cost them a significant sum.
Les Parisiens brought Hugo Ekitike last summer’s transfer window from Stade de Reims. The 20-year-old arrived in the French capital on loan with an obligation to buy, so it will be interesting to see if sporting advisor Luis Campos wants to spend that type of money on another striker.
