Neymar was stretchered off with an ankle injury during the second half of Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 home win against Lille OSC on Sunday.
Neymar sustained the ailment after landing awkwardly on his right ankle following a challenge from Lille midfielder Benjamin Andre. The Brazilian international was able to get up on his own power, but he struggled to walk on his own. He subsequently agreed to leave the pitch on a stretcher.
PSG announced after its win over Lille that the Brazilian forward suffered a sprained ankle injury during the contest, and the PSG star will “undergo a new ligament assessment” in 48 hours.
Neymar later took to Instagram to share a photo of his ankle in a cast with a caption that read, “Again and again.”

Neymar has a lengthy history of ankle injuries. For one, he missed 12 fixtures in all competitions last season due to an ankle ailment suffered in Nov. 2021.
PSG will return to Ligue 1 action next week with an away matchup against Olympique de Marseille.
