Paris Saint-Germain football advisor Luis Campos has called for other Les Parisiens players to up their game in order to help the team get the best out of its Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe trio.
PSG is currently without Mbappe and Neymar due to their respective injuries, although the latter could go on to make his return to action in the team’s Coupe de France round of 16 clash against Olympique de Marseille.
Campos has kept a close watch on the matches where Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe are all out on the pitch, and he sees that the three star forwards simply can not win contests on their own all the time.
“The big stars are not able to win [alone] a trophy,” Campos told Telefoot. “They can win a game, two games, or a few games. But they need the other teammates, who are very important.
“We need harmony. We need players with a collective sense. We’ve made a lot of progress and we need to continue to progress. As soon as the coach blows the whistle, as soon as the referee blows the whistle, (we need to be) altogether, all in the same direction, as a team. That’s the only way to win.”
Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe have combined to score 35 out of PSG’s 54 total goals in Ligue 1 play this season.
